Swindon Dolphin's Commonwealth breaststroker Chris Jones set a new world record in the three-day ASA Masters Short Course Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.

Chief coach Andi Manley had predicted that at least one British record could be returning to Milton Road, but Jones broke the world mark in the 200m in a time of 2:18.04.

Jones was in peak form all weekend, claiming five individual gold medals before playing a key role in both the record-breaking freestyle and medley relays.

Dolphin also set two British records in the men's 100-plus years 4 x 50 metres freestyle and medley relays.

A total of 13 Dolphin swimmers ranked among the highest achieving clubs in the UK with an individual medal tally of 15 gold, eight silver and seven bronze medals.

In the relay events, Dolphin's strength in depth was once again in evidence with four gold, three silver and a bronze.
