Day two saw James Clark in action for the first time at the ASA National Age Group Championships (Bagcats) at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, in the 400m Individual Medley. Clark, a finalist in this event last year, never found his true form and finished twenty second in a time of 4.31.43.
Dolphin had a relay team competing this year for the first time ever at a National Bagcats Championships. The boys’ 4x100m medley quartet came sixth in their heat recording a four second personal best time of 3.56.77. Up against the country’s top teams of 14 year olds, Dolphin’s comparatively young foursome of Liam Herbert (13, bk), Cathal Westman, (14, brs), Tim Berry, (14, fly) and Clark (12, free) finished twentieth overall out of the 30 teams in an exciting competition.

James Clark takes part in the 200m IM and Samantha Berry swims in the 100m Fly tomorrow while Cathal Westman & Clark (200m Brs) and Rosie Wells (200m Bk) are swimming on Thursday.
