Event: British Swimming Championships (50m) 2008

Date: 31st March – 6th April 2008

Venue: Ponds Forge International Sports Centre Sheffield S1 2BP

2008 British Championship Qualifiers, Jon Audis and Cathal Westman, returned from Sheffield disappointed they were unable to match their personal best performances but nonetheless having enjoyed the experience.  Audis, a relative veteran on the National stage and Westman, a 2006 National age group silver medallist, took part in the 100m backstroke and 200m breaststroke respectively.  Both will now join a party of 14 swimmers who will fly out on Thursday to the Pretoria High Performance Centre in South Africa for a warm weather, high altitude training camp from the 10th – 21st April, to prepare for the remainder of the season.

Congratulations also goes to Richard Moorhouse who was selected as a senior official for this year’s British Swimming Championships and acted as a Starter all week.
